CNF Precision invested in a VICIVISION PRIMA 309 turned-part measurement system from VICIVISION UK to increase the speed, quality and accuracy of their measurement and inspection processes.
Project Brief:
CNF Precision Engineering wanted to move away from a manual inspection process towards more advanced measurement and inspection technologies.
With regulations becoming stricter across the high-pressure industries CNF Precision serve, quality, speed and accuracy was recognised early in the project as a key factor.

CNF Precision recognised the need to revolutionise their manual measurement techniques for the future.
Quality Control Engineer for CNF Precision, Tharshan Pancharatnam, explained:
“We were mostly using shadow graphs. We were struggling a lot with small parts and time-consuming parts. Shadowgraphs were not the most accurate way.”

“The VICIVISION is great for turned parts. Before we bought the 309, it took longer to check vernier’s, height gauges, etc. Using the VICIVISION PRIMA 309 system, we can do it all. Checking turned parts was our bottleneck and the bottleneck is no longer there anymore,” said Neil

“The programming system is quite intuitive, it’s simple. Probably a day’s learning on it and you’re pretty much there to be able to start doing programs. If you’ve got a shaft or a turned component that you’ve made, and we’ve got a program on the VICI System, you can get the machine running almost immediately. Having a system that’s simple, gives us a comprehensive report and is quite easy to program, it’s a win-win.”
Tharshan said:
“We had one job that we did 2000 parts for and we checked every single one on the VICIVISION system because we could. I did have to call up the VICIVISION UK team once. Straight away they picked up and guided me through my problem. I would say 10/10 for service. They gave us full help and support.
